Hire A Private Investigator To Look Into A Prospective Babysitter

by Kim Miller

When you're hiring a babysitter who will take care of your children, there's nothing more important than choosing someone who will be responsible, caring, and keep your loved ones safe. You'll want to contact a babysitter's references and ask them any questions that you need to feel confident in moving forward with hiring the babysitter. If you really want to know more about the sitter's character, think about getting help from a private investigation service. Doing so might seem drastic, but PIs are adept at background checks in a variety of scenarios — and you can never put too much effort into assessing those who will care for your children.

Monitoring Social Media

One way that the private investigator will look into the prospective babysitter is to assess his or her social media feed. People often divulge their true selves on social media, and it's possible that the feed may tell the story of someone who acts differently than what you found during the interview. For example, if the private investigator finds proof of the babysitter posting frequently on social media while caring for other clients' children, this may suggest that he or she isn't very attentive while on the job.

Driving Habits

There may be a time that your babysitter needs to drive your children. For example, perhaps he or she needs to take them to a friend's house or simply out to dinner on the nights that you don't have time to prepare something for them to eat. Your private investigator can follow the babysitter to observe his or her driving habits. You want to hear that he or she obeyed the speed limit, didn't text message while driving, and, in general, appeared to be a safe and responsible motorist.

Watching Interactions With Other Kids

It may even be possible for your private investigator to observe the babysitter taking care of other children — perhaps at a local park. By monitoring the scene, the babysitter will get a sense of how attentive and responsible the sitter is with the other kids. For example, if one of them were to fall off a play structure, and the sitter didn't notice because he or she was texting, this is a concern. Armed with all of this information, you can make a highly informed decision about whether you follow through with hiring the babysitter — or to continue your search to find the right candidate.

Finding Smart Security Options for Your Home

Hi there, my name is Fred Olels. Are you looking for ways to improve the security of your home? When I was in college, our neighbor had a near break-in and let us know so we could improve your security. That was the first time I had even thought about security improvements for our dwelling. With help from my roommates, we worked together to find smart ways to improve the security of our home. Through that process, we all developed a strong understanding of the leading security systems available on the market today. I want to share that knowledge with you all on this site, so please visit any time you want to learn more.
